Samantha Lim
Samantha Lim is a dynamic and expressive flautist based in Singapore, currently studying at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) under the mentorship of international flautist Roberto Álvarez. Known for her versatility, rich tone, and musical maturity beyond her years, Samantha is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most exciting emerging voices in the classical flute scene.

Originally from New Zealand, Samantha picked up the flute at the age of thirteen and quickly stood out for her natural musicality and technical fluency. She trained with Dr. Melody Lin, achieving Distinction in her Trinity Grade 8 practical exam in 2022.

Samantha’s talent has been recognised on international stages. In 2024, she won Gold in the Open Category at the Singapore International Flute Festival, where she also received masterclasses from world-class flautists Erin Bouriakov and Vincent Lucas. Her performance at the festival led to a special invitation to perform with the King’s Flute Choir in their Opera Fantasies concert—an opportunity reserved for standout performers.

In 2025, she returned to the Singapore International Flute Festival, expanding her artistry through masterclasses with Elizaveta Ivanova and Shigeki Tojo.

Whether on stage as a soloist or blending in a chamber ensemble, Samantha brings a distinctive voice and heartfelt connection to her audience. Her performances are driven by a deep passion for storytelling through sound and a relentless pursuit of musical excellence.
